Dr Behrman is a Professor in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where she serves as Division Chief for Occupational Medicine and Occupational Medical Director for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Women in Global Health board member and Global Steering Committee member Venus Mushininga is a global health leader, pharmacist, and advocate for gender equity, health systems strengthening, and inclusive leadership in healthcare. Her work focuses on advancing gender-responsive health systems and equitable access to quality healthcare for women and underserved populations, particularly in oncology and non-communicable diseases (NCDs). She pioneered Zimbabwe’s first pharmaceutical wholesaler dedicated to oncology medicines, improving access to lifesaving cancer treatment. Venus is Founder and President of the Zimbabwe Society of Oncology Pharmacy and a founding leader of the Women in Global Health Zimbabwe. She has contributed to pandemic preparedness, response, and recovery through the Pandemic Action Network and Zimbabwe’s COVID-19 response efforts. ArgentinaGonzalo Rodríguez is an Argentine physician specializing in Occupational Medicine and Legal and Forensic Medicine at the National University of Rosario. He holds postgraduate qualifications in Epidemiology, Medical Auditing, and Bodily Injury Assessment. He has also completed international executive education programs in health systems transformation at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, as well as in healthcare leadership at the University of Oxford.

PakistanDr. Shabnum Sarfraz is a distinguished global health and development leader with extensive experience leading transformative health policy, gender equity, and workforce governance initiatives across national and international platforms. With over 15 years of experience working at the highest levels of government and global health diplomacy, she has led multi-sectoral and multi-country portfolios focused on strengthening health systems, advancing gender-responsive policies, and promoting equitable workforce development.
She previously served at the Federal Planning Commission, Government of Pakistan, where she was the national policy and planning lead for the Prime Minister’s health, education, youth, and gender portfolios. USADr. Wendy Thanassi completed her B.A. at Yale as a double major, summa cum laude, in Biology and African Studies, followed by medical school at Stanford, where she received a concurrent Master’s degree in International Economics. She then returned to Yale for Emergency Medicine specialty training.
Dr. Thanassi has worked on multiple volunteer and research projects in Thailand, Papua New Guinea, Australia, South Africa and Namibia. Professionally, she worked for the US. Department of Veterans Affairs as a Chief of Occupational Health for 16 years leading the national TB testing programs for their 300,000 healthcare workers and is a Professor at Stanford Medicine. She was the Principal Investigator for the FDA trial of QFT-Plus while at the VA. She now works both at the VA Palo Alto and as the Senior Medical Director for North America at QIAGEN.
